Foundation stone of Quaid e Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur was laid by Governor of Punjab, Lt General Attique-ur-Rehmal (rtd) in 02-December-1971.

The foundation Principal of QAMC was Prof. Dr. Nawab Muhammad Khan.

It is a public sector medical college.
